Where It Started

Football gave us a way forward.

The Streetz Football was founded in 2019 by Malachi Simpson, five years after losing his brother to knife crime. Growing up in Angell Town, Brixton, Malachi saw first hand the challenges facing young people in his community. Football became his outlet, giving him purpose, discipline and a positive path forward.

Malachi Simpson

Founder

Malachi Simpson grew up in Angell Town, Brixton, and began his football journey with Lambeth Tigers at the age of ten before earning an opportunity with Brentford Academy. In 2014, after losing his brother to knife crime, football became a source of purpose and direction. Turning that experience into something positive, Malachi founded The Streetz Football in 2019 to create opportunities and guidance for the next generation. Today, Malachi has become one of the UK's most influential young football coaches, impacting thousands of young players and helping many progress into professional academies. His philosophy, "More Touches. More Tekkers", is built on a simple belief: the more touches a player gets on the ball, the more repetition they gain and the more technically they develop. What began as a coaching philosophy has grown into a global movement representing development, confidence and self-expression through football.

Mario Coker

CEO

Mario grew up on Somerleyton Road in Brixton, an area where young people often faced significant challenges. Football gave him focus and direction after joining Lambeth Tigers at ten. In 2021, he joined Malachi to help grow The Streetz Football into one of the UK's leading youth football platforms, creating opportunities for young people through football, media and experiences. Mario also serves as a Trustee of London Youth Sports Trust, supporting its work to create opportunities for young people through sport.

During his time there, he coached Malachi and Mario in their early playing years and today works alongside them at The Streetz Football. David went on to spend ten years at Crystal Palace, including as Head of Pre-Academy, before continuing his academy coaching journey with Arsenal and later Chelsea. Throughout his career, he has helped develop hundreds of young players, with many progressing into professional academies.
